Kathy Lombard has been a solo practitioner for twelve years, specializing in television, motion pictures, music, and musical theatre. Most recently she is providing legal services to the new Hub network, a joint venture between Hasbro and the Discovery Channel. In addition to her work as production counsel, Kathy represents television writers, producers, and composers, including producers In Motion Entertainment, SenovvA, and Irene Weibel, writing team Charles Johnston and Daniel Franklin, composers Stanley Silverman and Joe Alfuso, and writers Greg Atkins and William Patrick. In 2009 Kathy counseled start-up company Choreo Technology LLC in the design and development of the choreography software “Dance Designer.”

In addition, Kathy is legal counsel to several companies specializing in live events and musical theatre. She currently provides legal production counsel to McCoy-Rigby Entertainment, producers of the national tour of Peter Pan, starring Cathy Rigby; the national tour of Camelot, starring Lou Diamond Phillips; the national tour of the musical Happy Days, written by Gary Marshall and Paul Williams; and Fellowship: The Musical Parody of the Fellowship of the Ring, which ran to sold-out audiences at the Falcon Theatre in Los Angeles.

Kathy also has successfully litigated and successfully settled several high-profile idea disclosure/copyright infringement and breach of contract cases. Of counsel Sarah Martoccia lends services to the firm in the area of employment law and litigation.

Prior to starting her solo practice, Kathy was employed in the music departments of Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp and the Codikow & Carroll firm, where she worked on behalf of songwriters, publishers, and talent. Prior to beginning her legal career, Kathy worked in the music business as Director of Copyrights and Licensing for Atlantic Records in New York and in printed music at Music Sales/G. Schirmer.

She has a music degree from NYU and graduated from Southwestern Law School, where she earned writing honors. She is the author of the book Rock Riffs For Keyboard. She currently resides in Palos Verdes with her husband, a physician, and her two young sons.
